Q&A # 10

Q:    Do flowers normally fall out of bouquets?

A:    No, not normally! I have seen pictures when a bouquet is in mid-air, during the toss, and that bouquet seems to be showering flowers! That I think could be normal! Some of those brides in the excitement of it all, have quite the baseball arm!

I would say the likelihood of flowers falling out of a bouquet is possible when they are arranged in a bridal holder. These bridal holders are comprised of foam at the top, giving flowers a steadfast H20 source. But during the course of the day and all the movement, the foam can breakdown or loosen. The stems of the flowers are cut short for this technique, therefore not as tight as a hand-tied bouquet.

Hand-tied bouquets are just that – arranged in the hands, gathered and secured in a bundle, with all the stems remaining long or longer than those in a holder. So, no flowers in this type of bouquet are likely to fall out at all!

Both design applications have pros and cons! Talk with your designer about the benefits of each and which is best for the flowers you desire!
